A 100% French programme from Simon Rattle and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, a period instrument ensemble whose guest conductors, in addition to Rattle, include Franz Brüggen. This concert will be one of the highlights of our tribute to Claude Debussy on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth. In Ravel's Concerto for the Left Hand the soloist will be Pierre-Laurent Aimard, one of today's most versatile and fascinating pianists, whose repertoire ranges across almost the entire gamut of piano music, from the Classical to the contemporary.
